Stick it, Tag it, Find it {Kiddotags Review}

So, I will be the first to admit I am always learning as a mom. Last year, when LC first started going to preschool I never thought about labeling all of his stuff. I never even considered writing his name on the tag of his coat, on his sippy cup, or his lunch box. Why wouldn’t the teacher’s know he was the kid with the blue Patriots fleece and lunch box with a “C” embroidered on the front?

It wasn’t until he started coming home with masking tape on his cups with his name written on them or in black permanent marker on the bottom that I realized I should probably be labeling my kids stuff. Once I realized this, it was a matter of actually doing it and keeping up with it for every new cup, snack trap, or coat that I had to keep up with.

Enter Kiddotags into my life.

I feel like such a dork, because the day our Kiddotags arrived, I could barely contain my excitement to slap these adorable sticky labels all over my kids cups, bowls, food pouches – you name it! We got a value pack with labels in different shapes and sizes to fit on sippy cup tops, bottoms, sides, all the way around so we would have no more missing lids or cups!

We also got clothing tags, which are not only practical, but adorable! I love that they are so easy to use – they just iron on and Kiddotag’s says they’re also easy to remove for when your little ones grow out of their clothes so the name isn’t left on there when it’s time to donate or re-sell. I even read they can stick onto glass, so since I chose the cute crab design, I might just use them as part of the decor for Lavery’s “under the sea” birthday party coming up too!

The awesome news? No more black permanent marker coming home on cups!

I also think I’m completely in love with these super adorable AND practical Social Kiddo “business cards.” How many times have you been to the park and met a mom with children playing so well, you want to plan another playdate!? Social Kiddos lets you carry around your kids names and all of your info to just hand right over if you need to! We like to be out and about, and my kids get their socialization skills from their mama, so these are a perfect cute, practical, and fun accessory to keep on hand while out and about! Anyone who know me, knows it’s only natural my children would walk around with their business cards ;)

Can I just tell you… even if these (dishwasher safe I might add!) tags weren’t so practical, I would still want to use them, because they’re so darn cute! And super easy to apply, all you have to do is make sure the surface is clean and dry and stick it right on – easy peasy! You just want to make sure you’re sticking onto a smooth surface.

Spreading The Holiday Cheer with Tiny Prints

Well.. it’s that time of year again! Anyone who knows me, knows creating THE most fantabulous holiday card is at the top of my list every holiday season! Aside from loving the holiday’s, I’m a perfectionist and I take days deciding on the best design, color scheme, photo, font, wording…. everything! The past two years, I have worked with Tiny Prints reviewing their newest holiday designs and this year, I am so excited to share with you what they’ve created and give you some tips on designing the most amazing holiday card to spread some fancy holiday cheer!

Designing a holiday card is a process with many steps in our house. First, we choose coordinating outfits for pictures. Then, we have pictures taken. Next is choosing our favorite photos to show off, and then finding a design that fits. If you’ve ever ordered from Tiny Prints, you know the selection is endless, so they certainly do not make choosing the perfect design an easy decision. Check out their holiday designs they’ve come up with this year…. While browsing, I think I’ve seen every color scheme, pattern, and photo layout I could possibly dream up in my head… and then even more!

So… let’s talk fashion and photos. Here are some tips to keep in mind while beginning the process of searching for the perfect holiday card design ::

  • Think ahead. I chose outfits for our recent family photos that would go with a holiday theme. I wanted the outfit to go with a large selection of design options, so I had plenty to choose from.
  • Get creative. Decide the theme or image you’re looking for before even beginning the process of searching for a card design.
  • Choose a photo(s) that is eye popping and good quality. If you want people to showcase your card and enjoy what you’ve created, you want to be sure the photo you choose to be the center of your design is something people will enjoy.

I like to choose an image that really shows off our family and our year. Part of holiday cards is showing the people you love what a year you’re family had and wishing them blessings and good tidings for the year to come.

Last week I had a fun opportunity to attend a #GracoSafety event in Charlotte hosted by my good friend and networking partner Dana Blake, CEO of Baby Elan {Daily}. A group of fabulous bloggers at one event together = lots of opinions and a whole lot of fun!

I was so excited to hang out with some awesome bloggers from the area, most of them I already knew personally. It was a fun excuse for a mom’s night out with some fabulous ladies and learn about a new product at the same time.

Before going into the event, I knew about the Graco brand and I’ve even used Graco products before, but I was anxious to hear about the new features and perks to their newest product, Graco Snugride Click Connect 40.

I knew I would trust what Graco had come up with, because since being a mom for the past 3 1/2 years, I’ve spent hours upon hours researching brands and products to find the best and safest option for my bundles of joy. Stonyfield Fun!

Last week, we had some friends over to taste Stonyfield Yogurt’s selection of delicious organic treats. It seems today, so many parent’s are focused on finding the healthiest most nutrient options for their little one’s growing tummies… and why shouldn’t we? Our kids deserve the best!

Stonyfield has always been a favorite brand of mine and they have grown to be a very trusted brand and choice in general, but who knew they had such an array of options when it comes to yogurt!? Greek yogurt, plain yogurt, squeezable yogurt, chocolate yogurt!? Yes, I said chocolate mom’s! YUM!

Check out that delicious yogurt spread! Now I would be lying if I told you I had a child (actually two now that Lavery is eating everything we eat) who ate everything I put in front of them. The truth is, I have some picky eaters on my hands so I have to get creative with meal choices to be sure they are getting healthy nutritious options.

What I included in my Stonyfield Yogurt spread::

  • Yogurt squeezers. LC’s FAVORITE! Toddlers love the fun squeezy tubes this yogurt comes in, so I stalked up on Blueberry and Lemonade options for them to choose from
  • Banana drinkable yogurt. The babies enjoyed slurping these down in their sippy cups!
  • Large tub of vanilla yogurt. This is my favorite breakfast treat paired with fresh fruit or granola
  • Chocolate and berry organic greek yogurt. I thought this would give a few options to serve different taste pallets. Chocolate yogurt? Yes, please!

This yogurt goodness left both the adults and children wanting more! The kids enjoyed their squeezable goodness and the babies kept right up! I think Lavery ended up eating two bowls of vanilla yogurt, a little bit of each greek option, and two squeezers…. yes, my kids can eat!

Which again leaves me telling you how important healthy choices are for our previous bundles! MyHealthySchool.com suggests filling your kids lunches with organic options and as a mom who strives to provide the healthiest options for my family, I agree! We pack a Stonyfield organic squeezable yogurt in Landyn’s lunch everyday and it’s always the first thing he goes for when he gets home craving a snack… I can’t complain about that choice!

John McLemore Partners with Action Against Hunger {Giveaway}

Last week I had the opportunity to attend an event at a local Charlotte area non-profit In Goode Company for Action Against Hunger with chef John McLemore and his really awesome PR team.

John has written a few cook books and really prides himself on family and bringing family together to cook and enjoy really great food. He was here in Charlotte as a stop on his tour for Action Against Hunger visiting with the kids at In Goode Company and teaching them about eating healthy and cooked up some great food for them to enjoy.

As a mom, I can certainly relate to cooking healthy meals for my family and enjoying our time together, but also to giving back to the community. It was so cool to be a part of this event and see how In Goode Company is really changing these kids lives right here in our very own community. Seeing how well John interacted with the kids and how he brought his love for food and family into the room was something I can definitely relate to.

Healthy Snacks For Kids {Kashi Chocolate Soft Baked Squares}

Today we had a super fun playdate. It wasn’t just any playdate, but a KASHI PLAYDATE! Yummy right!? We got to try out Kashi’s new Chocolate Soft Baked Squares and they were a hit!

Of course some of the kids ate a few bites then took off on the playground, but others chowed down until they were gone and us mama’s enjoyed some bites too! I think Lavery and Gracie loved them, don’t you think?


The best part of about Kashi Chocolate Soft Baked Squares is that it’s chocolate, but sweetened naturally, low calorie (160 per square) and are made with sweet potato and black beans. Your kids THINK they’re getting a chocolate treat, when in reality, they’re getting a chocolate and vegetable treat!

What did everyone think of them? They were a hit! Here are some of the great things about these healthy snacks that made us mom’s go crazy for them:

Kashi to me, has been a pretty trusted brand, so I didn’t doubt this was something we all would love. Wholesome Goodness {Review} & Something Special For Mom’s Too!

Trying to find affordable healthy food for your family is not always an easy task. It really does seem like all of the organic, freshest, healthiest options come with a steeper price tag. I will splurge on healthy options for my family, but what if I told you there was a new brand that makes it more possible to stock your refrigerator and pantry with healthier food options?

Wholesome Goodness approached me a while back, because they have recently made their way into Wal-Mart stores in the Charlotte area and I was eager to give their products a try! They sent me a huge box full of Wholesome Goodness products that stayed true to its name.

Oatmeal, almond milk, cereal, trail mix, granola bars, barbecue sauce, salsa, and more were waiting to be indulged in by my family of four! We are huge salsa lovers in our house, so both my husband and I were excited to give that a try. We are also big oatmeal eater’s and I plan to use what’s left of the oatmeal for a homemade granola bar project I discover a-la pinterest soon!

What Was My Favorite?

While all of the products are all pretty low in calories and tasted delicious (and no, I’m not just saying that! When my three year old will eat what’s put in front of him with no problems, that is the ultimate test!) He loved the oatmeal and I added in some fresh blueberries and he chows it down for breakfast when I make it for him. The best part? It’s healthy too!

But mom’s favorite? I am a snacker. I’ll admit it. I love to munch throughout the day and don’t do well with eating big meals. My favorite product of all was the Tuxedo Snack Mix. At just 185 calories per serving, I found it filled me up and it was a nice sweet and salty snack! I must stock up on more!

Stonyfield Yogurt Partners with Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” {Giveaway} *CLOSED*

Over the weekend, I took LC to see Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax thanks to Stonyfield Yogurt and another sweet mommy blogger I have been connected with. A month ago, we saw the previews for “The Lorax” and LC was enthralled by The Lorax himself, so I knew I wanted to take him back to see the full movie. We were not disappointed!

Although I’m a huge Dr. Seuss fan, I had never read The Lorax, but I was so excited to take LC not just for the cuteness that comes with all things Dr. Seuss, but also, because I love the message. It’s no secret with my many cloth diapering themed posts or “green” habits that I prefer what’s organic, green, and natural in the world. The message hits close to home and it’s done in a way that I think can get through to most kids and teach them how important it is to save our environment.

Medela Announces it’s newest product, Calma {Review}

Medela has recently launched its brand new product, Calma; a unique baby bottle designed to mimic breastfeeding for your nursing baby. I know what you’re thinking, almost every bottle out there claims to be made to be just like the breast, right? I know that’s exactly what I thought when I first heard about this product. I remember when I was nursing my son, I searched online for days looking for the best bottle that would be a good fit for us when we decided to start giving him a bottle here and there. When I was pregnant with my daughter, it felt like almost every other bottle out there claimed to be the best bottle for breastfeeding infants.

Calma instantly put my skepticism at ease. It’s already different, because this bottle is designed specifically for a breastfeeding baby. It really seems like these days companies will put almost anything on the label to suck mom’s into buying their product, but Calma was completely different and Medela once again proved to me they are a trustworthy company in tune with mom’s and what’s best for our babies. Calma features an innovative and unique design is like no other bottle on the market.

The top of the bottle is made up of three parts. The base, which the middle section snaps into and then the nipple goes over that. You can screw this into any Medela bottle and I’ve found this to be easy to use, because I can screw the top right onto breastmilk I pumped and it’s ready to go!

Why Calma?

You’re probably wondering why Calma is different from the other bottles out there on the market and why you should try this one over the others. Calma is not like any other bottle out there. I have tried several different bottles between when my son was a baby and with my daughter now and I haven’t had a feeding experience quite like this.

Calma is designed to allow for the baby to control the milk flow, just like when breastfeeding. Anytime we’ve given my daughter a bottle, you can tell it’s coming out much faster than she’s used to and although sometimes she sucks it right down, other times, she pulls off frequently, because she isn’t used to that fast of a milk flow. Calma allows her to take a bottle just like she would be breastfeeding and that is a feeding experience you can’t get with any other product. If you’re a breastfeeding mother, why would you want your baby to get the same, calming experience when she gets a bottle too? Now, thanks to Medela, that is possible!

Calma gets an A+ in my eyes and if you’re a breastfeeding mama needing the right bottle, I urge you to give this new, innovative, and completely different design a shot! Medela absolutely does not disappoint!
