The Bachelorette {Episode 3} Emily Means Business

First of all, I cannot tell you how much I am loving seeing Charlotte all over The Bachelorette! It’s so cool to see my city plastered on our TV on Monday night’s and shown in such an exciting way. I was really surprised to discover the types of dates they went on instead of obvious Charlotte date spots, and it’s so cool to see Charlotte shown in all it’s glory. I love how Emily is so proud to be from here, and I know I am proud to see her on this journey and show off such a beautiful city with such pride!

Last night, I think Emily proved more than ever that she is the boss and she means business on this quest in finding true love. Emily didn’t waste anyone’s time or her own and wasn’t shy about sending sad dad Tony or pig headed Alessandro packing before the rose ceremony even began. It was nice to see Emily put her foot down and show she isn’t going to take crap.

I’m not really sure the best way to say what I’m about to say, so I’ll just say it. Tony is a coward. I get that he missed his son and I 100% can understand how difficult it would be to away from your child, but in all honesty.. why go on the show? To gain your 15 minutes of fame? To be in the spotlight for about 10 seconds? Why do you feel the need to cry on national television about missing your kid when YOU were the one who put yourself in that position? It seriously drives me up the wall and it annoys me that he got that chance to meet Emily when he was going to act like that and ruin the chance for someone else who could have the opportunity.

There. Rant over, but does anyone else agree? Good riddens Tony and thank you (NOT) for wasting Emily’s time.

Same goes for Alessandro, but not because he’s a dad, because he’s a coward and a total jerk for going on a show to meet a woman who has not been shy about the fact that she has a daughter, her daughter is her number one, and she needs a man who will embrace that and love them both like they deserve. What a complete and total dirt bag.

Ok, seriously now. RANT OVER.

The Dates

I’m loving how Emily is taking them on more down to earth dates like baking cookies for soccer practice and playing with kids amidst getting grilled by her girlfriends. There are some of the spectacular over the top dates thrown in there, but I think one of the main reasons why these Bachelor relationships never work is, because it’s not real. Despite being labeled as “reality television,” it is far from real and what real life dating is like and I think this season is proving to be much different.

My Thoughts On Who’s Left? Who is My Favorite?

In the first two weeks, I wasn’t shy to say Ryan is my favorite. For his obviously charming good lucks, but he seemed like a true and genuine fit for Emily. However, I think we started to see a different side of Ryan last night that is making me pay more attention to who he is outside of being with Emily. He seems jealous and controlling; two traits no woman really needs in her life. He is seeming less and less genuine as the episode progresses last night and I’m anxious to see how things go with him.

Arie is still a favorite, but I’m still being cautiously optimistic. I’ve obviously heard the rumors about Arie dating “Bachelor” producer Cassie Lambert and wondering if he is sincere or just coached well. Like I said last week, only time will tell.

And Doug was a favorite, and I guess still is, but I think we saw a little bit of a different side to him to.

My honest prediction is she leaves empty handed and picks no one. I truly do not think her Prince Charming is in that group of guys, but we shall see.

And I’m still loving Nate even though we haven’t seen all that much of him. Last night, my only real glimpse of him was looking handsome right before Emily called his name for a rose during the rose ceremony. I think I even had to ask myself who it was until she called his name, because he hasn’t been one of those guy’s shown and talked about much yet. He is so handsome though and I hope to see more of him and Emily together in the upcoming weeks.

So, Who Went Home?

Emily decided to gracefully let Tony go after she saw him so upset over missing his son. Alessandro was sent packing when he admitted that taking on a life with her and Ricki would be a compromise and Stevie was sent home during the rose ceremony. All three very wise and to the point choices in my opinion.

I’d love to hear your thoughts this season on how Emily is handling her title as “Bachelorette?”

  1. What are your thoughts on Sean? He seemed to pull ahead as a potential front runner. And Emily seemed pleasantly surprised by Chris too, but I think you may be right… Not sure her future husband is in this crowd of guys. I feel like most of these guys are there for their 15 minutes of fame. I hope Kalon is next to go. He did not choose his words wisely!

    • Oh I do really like Sean! I don’t think he really stood out until last night, but I liked what I saw! Sean is kind of like Arie though in I can’t tell yet if he’s sincere. Do you think? Kalon is the obvious one she is no one going to pick and I don’t get why he’s still there! However, that’s what we all thought about Courtney with Ben last season…. *sigh*

      • I initially didn’t think Arie was sincere either, but when he comforted her before the rose ceremony (hello PDA in front of the other guys!), that to me looked a little more sincere. I honestly don’t think very many of the guys seem sincere at all, which is saddening. Emily is a very sincere person and deserves to find happiness for her and her daughter. I stopped watching last season because of Courtney. And wished I stopped watching during Jake’s season because of Vienna. Crazy people!!

  2. I like Chris. Not sure I can really see her with any of them long term though. It’s such a cheesy way to find your life partner.
Alessandro… I do think now that this guy left because there was an issue with what he was saying being lost in translation. Before going to bed I red a few sites and apparently in Portuguese the word is “compromisso” and it means commitment. Oops. But he’s dated his cousin and he didn’t seem to be a good fit anyway.

    • INTERESTING (about Alessandro!) I wonder if the whole thing was a language barrier!! I still don’t think he would have lasted much longer anyway, but that is interesting to hear! I thought it was totally crazy how someone would willingly be such a jerk!… And dated his COUSIN!? WOW!

      • Oh my gosh, yes, he said he dated his third cousin or something crazy like that. I remember Emily asking if it was a language barrier and he said no, he knew what he was saying — didn’t realize the words were so similar!!
