My {Not So} Bucket List

As I was driving LC to preschool this morning, I started thinking. I thought about Avery’s Bucket List and what a popular sensation it was. Then I got to thinking about why. Aside from the obvious being a precious sweet baby girl we all have come to care about and root for (and even more, cry for after hearing of her unfortunate passing,) but what about the relatable aspect? At any moment something can happen and if we didn’t come up with a bucket list or do the things that make us happy or are important to us, how would we feel?

I decided to come up with my {Not So} Bucket List. I’m calling it this, because these aren’t really things I want to do before I die, but more of a short term bucket list, becuase I’ve put more time limits on them. Lately, I’ve been getting back into the work out grind and eating healthy and as a mom, I think it’s important for mom’s to do things that set us apart from being moms. It’s important we do things for ourselves, because as I’ve been learning lately, it takes a happy mom to be a good mom.

So here is my {Not So} Bucket List and I plan to update as I complete each thing on my list. I know lots of mom bloggers out there. Why don’t we all do this and we can work together towards accomplishing things that have been on our list of things we wanted to do for ourselves for a while!?

  1. See a movie with a girlfriend
  2. Go to hot yoga at least once a week for 2 months straight
  3. Try a new sushi roll
  4. Finish a book from start to finish (I’ve been wanting to start 50 Shades of Grey.. maybe this is my chance!)
  5. Try a new hairstyle (whether it’s a cut or just a new style, try something new and fresh!)
  6. Create a low calorie, good tasting snow cone syrup (this could get tricky, but I’m determined to enjoy one of my favorite summer treats in a healthy way!)
  7. Try a new summer cocktail (I may have to put my Pinterest Boards to the test – finally!)
  8. Organize and save all of my pictures. (This is something I’ve attempted to do several times, but never finished. I WILL finish!)….. completed on May 18, 2012!
  9. Learn how to french braid. (I know, silly, but I always loved a french braid and now that I have a girl, I must figure out how to do it on my own!)
  10. Take more pictures. (I know this isn’t just one thing I will be able to document easily, but I need to take more pictures and I will {hopefully} document my increase in picture taking in some more Wordless Wednesday posts!

I know some of these are smaller, easier things to complete, but everything on this list are all things that I either want to do more of or I have been meaning to do for a long time. Now it’s written and official, so I will have the reminder to keep going at it!

If you have a Bucket List or you’re a mom and want to do something similar, leave me a comment with a link. I would love to read yours too!
